Brenda,
I also know of someone who got very excited about the EdenPure heater as a result of their printed materials and the Paul Harvey endorsement. I was skeptical of the claims and became suspicious from the wording and style of their marketing information. I did a lot of research, and as one of the other individuals has mentioned, Consumer Reports rated it quite low in their October 2007 space heater reviews. I also found various Internet forums where the vast majority of opinions posted by buyers of the EdenPure heater indicated that it is an overpriced and inferior product. It appears to me that the EdenPure heater, at best, borders on scam and fraud. I hope you don't buy one or were able to return it. Yes, it heats air. Yes, perhaps they worded things just right to avoid legal problems (maybe if you turn off your furnace and live in your bathroom, you can stay warm and reduce your heating bills by up to 50%).
Somehow, I doubt that there really was a "John Jones" who discovered the magical even heating properties of "cured copper" by accidentally observing how a sheet of it near his furnace magically heated his basement by exhaling its wonderful special heating energy. I also found their letterhead amusing, with all its lofty-sounding titles included for some reason. I could go on and on about all the items in their marketing materials that both make me laugh as well as make me angry.
The more I researched this product, the more disgusted I became with the EdenPure people, as well as those who push it, including Paul Harvey.
Here are some sources I found useful in evaluating the EdenPure heater:
